Greg finds great fulfillment in helping clients in all stages of life, whether it’s a young person saving for the future, parents wanting to send their children to college, or people who are preparing for retirement. Ultimately, Greg’s goal is to make a difference in their lives.
Greg has worked at Maier & Associates since 2000, assisting our clients with developing strategies designed to accomplish their financial goals and objectives. He devotes the time with his clients to explain financial topics and educate them on recommendations being made – to help them understand the reasoning behind them.
He knows that clients are turning to us for help in many areas of their financial lives, and that there is much more to financial planning than stocks, bonds and mutual funds. He wants clients to know they have a team dedicated to helping them realize their financial goals, and that we are here to assist them as life happens.
As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, Greg has attained the prestigious CFP® certification, one of the most respected financial planning credentials among consumers and the recognized standard of excellence in personal financial planning.
As a Retirement Income Certified Professional®, Greg has the knowledge to manage the transition from a client’s working years to retirement, delivering smart strategies designed to create sustainable income.
One particular area of focus is helping families navigate the college financial aid and application process. Greg assists with evaluating college funding options, seeks out ways to pay for current and future college-related expenses in a tax-favorable way, reviews and compares financial aid offers and award letters, and helps families with the entire financial aid process.
Greg holds Series 7, 9, 63 and 65, as well as life, health and variable annuity licenses. He also holds the professional designation of Behavioral Financial Advisor, helping clients make better financial decisions by striving to remove behavioral biases from the equation. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Northwood University.
A native of Michigan, Greg was born in Flint and grew up in Frankenmuth. Today, Greg and his wife Carrie reside in Bay City. They have three children, Megan, Zach Nathan, and one granddaughter, Nora Lou. In his free time, he enjoys all things outdoors, including boating, fishing, hunting, shooting, riding ATVs and golfing. He also enjoys all sports, especially the Detroit Red Wings. Above all, he appreciates spending time with his family. He supports the Maier & Associates Charitable Foundation and Just For Kids.
